In order to keep up to date on departmental and federal regulations and policies, the Administrative Procedures Section maintains publications from the federal government; specifically the Federal Register Index, the Congressional Record, and the Congressional Record Index. This series also contains information memos, action transmittals, federal policy announcements, program instructions, and regional administrator's memos from state agencies. The bulk of this material is from the Department of Health and Human Services. The Administrative Procedures Secretary sends copies of the latter group of records to the department's Central Files Division. These files also include issues of the Alabama Administrative Monthly which is issued by the Legislative Reference Service and is a report of all changes or proposed changes in administrative procedures for all departments in state government. The Administrative Procedures Section receives a copy to be sure that Department of Human Resources changes are printed correctly.
